Nordic Innovation

Barents Secretariat
The Barents Secretariat promotes Norwegian-Russian cooperation by creating mutual understanding on both sides of the border. The office facilitates that good project ideas become reality, and is at the same time a competence center for regional cooperation.
Our most important tasks are to finance collaborative projects, share knowledge and build networks of committed people in the Barents region. The projects lay the foundation for trust, friendship and increased quality of life in the Barents region.
The Community Pledge
In some banks, all the profits go into investors' pockets. This is not the case in SpareBank 1 Nord-Norway. Our largest owner is all of us who live here north, in fact 54 per cent of the bank is community-owned. And as an owner, the region gets the largest share of the profits. Because this is where the values are created and the money belongs.
Over the past ten years, more than 5,000 socially beneficial projects have received funding. This is our thanks to all those who make it possible!
